A wooden twister roller coaster that opened in 1995. Patterned after the legendary Coney Island Cyclone.

When I was younger, I really used to like this. The older I got, the less fun this ride became. I barely get any airtime, and it's just not that fun for what a cyclone coaster should be. Go to Six Flags Over Georgia, and you will find the Georgia Cyclone. Now, that is a wicked ride. Even though it's smooth, I could careless. It's not a thrill for me.

Coiled like a snake, born to Six Flags Great America in 1995 is the fun-filled, wooden roller coaster named Viper! Take a walk down to Southwest Territory and try it out. This coaster likes to coil inside itself. After the climb up the lift hill, you will feel as though you have stopped. But in realitly, you are just about to be surprised! It feels as though you will never make it down the drop, but soon you will be having fun, whipping down the track like a snake in the desert sands.
Viper is not one of the most "thrillful" rides, I must say. But it gives a unique sense of fun. I enjoy shouting or singing while on this ride. It is fun to be knocked around on this bumpy coaster! It is a freaky feeling to have your hands up, then on some drops, feel like they are going to hit parts of the wood structure. Overall, Viper may not give me as much as Iron Wolf or Vertical Velocity, but it is very fun.

Viper is a coaster all its own with the turns and drops that come with it. As you sit in the station pulling your lap bar down. You pull it till what you think is the last click. But you look and you see It does not look down all the way. You try and try to pull it down. But you cant. Then you leave the station. You head up the hill, but at the top you go slower and slower. You think you will break down then zoom, you fly down the hill. Going up and down, the turns thrusting you to the seat next to you. The hills with hardly any Gs. Then hitting the brakes, you slam to almost a stop, then you enter the station. You start to think “What a thrill”. Viper I recommend you hit the ride early or late because on a nice day the line could get long.

Viper the most underrated Wooden Coaster from the start of the perfect lift the sudden jolt left followed by a series of faster more air filled hills the double down drop the "Oh my God Turns" an ending that has the pwer to run another 3000ft. Viper never fails to amaze, delight, draw me closer to loving it every time I ride it. :P

It's a very good ride, but with longer lines. I love the first drop because your heart feels like it's going fly out of your body.

Viper is my favorite ride in the park, it combines some thrill but mainly is just a very fun coaster to ride. I dont know why but whenever I ride backrow I have an amazing experience. No other ride has made me feel like this.

You really don't get any airtime? That's too bad.
I find I always get a lot of airtime on Viper, and it's one of my favorite coasters in the park. I like to sit toward the front of the train. I enjoy the turns, and the double down is great. There's also a couple "head chopper" moments, and it has that fun bumpy woodie feeling. Overall, I think it's a great ride.
